Vinous Josh Raynolds - 01 Apr 20
Deep, dark ruby. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, licorice and pungent flowers, and a smoky mineral nuance builds with aeration. Velvety and seamless on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit liqueur, salty olive, candied violet and exotic spice flavors sharpened by juicy acidity and a cracked pepper flourish. Hangs on with impressive tenacity on the floral- and mineral-accented finish, which leaves star anise and cola notes behind. 60% of this fruit comes from the Côte Brune and 40% is drawn from the Côte Blonde.

Cote-Rotie Vineyard Fine Wine

Cote Rotie

Côte-Rôtie, a distinguished Northern Rhône appellation, is famed for its elegant, complex Syrah-based red wines. The name means "Roasted Slope," reflecting its sun-drenched, steep hillsides. These wines often blend Syrah with a small amount of Viognier, adding floral notes to rich dark fruit flavours like blackberries and plums, with peppery, smoky undertones. Top producers include E. Guigal, Domaine Jamet, and Domaine Côte-Rôtie, all celebrated for crafting some of the region's most revered wines.
